DJ Barry King
Breaking Soul Artists in the UK

I am a child of the first london underground music scene ! sound systems (Jamaican mobile disco's), run by my father (Prince B) and uncle (Jim Daddy), in the early 60's in Brixton. They ran club nights and put on all night parties in the basement of our house, where every weekend you could hear Saparno B or Sir Coxone sound system. The best of every type of black music was the order of the day. My parents bought musical instruments and piano lessons were given to us, we also had a saxophone teacher called Norman from Trinidad living with us - this man taught me so much about the groove.I later joined Frontline International and we became the U.K's No1 Clash/club sound at that time. The sound played out seven nights a week, all this while just starting at secondary school! As they say one thing leads to another and my love for music has led me to work in many music orientated fields. In the late 80's I became a DJ on PRS Radio, a north west London pirate radio station run by reggae artist Bruce Ruffin.I jammed on other radio station such as Sky, Twilight and Genesis. From 1991 to 1995 I worked at one of London's roughest record shops - Black Market where I ran the Urban section with Stafford, Nicky BM, Brandon Block, Ray Keith,Ashley Beadle,Booker T the list goes on. In 1997 I joined Wyld Records & Hype Promotions, working with Digger,Dez Parkes selling the best music and also promoting urban & dance acts for major and independent record labels and delivering the product right into the hands of the U.K's top DJ's . My varying musical talents have allowed me to become involved in other area's of the music industry. In 1995 I wrote a music review for Echoes Magazine called Dubwise, reviewing major and independent artists. By the late 90's I was no longer content with just playing and listening to music; I wanted to produce music and to that end I enrolled at the Islington Music Workshop where I gained a sound engineering diploma.at present i work with a host of folks & artist dj'ing for Ty-Erik Rico-Eska etc etc etc UK_USA_Canada where ever the groove is..i'm there !
